This is a summary of various policies on our website, with a link to the full page of said policy! Hopefully, this is easier for you to read and summarize.
When leaving comments on our site, we collect some basic data including e-mail address which is used to link your comment to your email, and display a Gravatar if you have one. After a few approved comments, there will be less significant moderation of your future comments.
When leaving a comment, a cookie is placed saving your name, email, and website fields. This is for your convenience so you don’t have to keep filling it out for future comments. The cookies last 1 year.
While logging in, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser has cookies enabled. It contains no personal data and is deleted once you close your browser. Also when logging in, we set up a few cookies to save your login information and display choices. Login cookies last 2 days, display options for 1 year. If you choose “remember me,” login will persist for 2 weeks. Upon logging out, login cookies are deleted.
We sometimes embed content from YouTube, Twitch, and other sites. These content have their own cookies that they place as if you visit their website. We have zero control over their cookies.
How Long We Keep Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and metadata related to it are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize future comments you may make, and adjust moderation queue as needed. For registered users, we store the personal information in your user profile. You can edit or delete the personal information of yours at any time (except you can’t change your username). Admins can also see all this information, but not Contributors.
Your comments may be checked through anti-spam detection services, which we have no direct control over, either.
We make use of Google’s AdSense program and Amazon Affiliate links to help offset the costs of running the website and our community.
